Dental Insignia Lapel Pin
DETAILS
A new take on an old profession. 🦷🐍 The dental insignia was adopted by the American Dental Association in November 1965 as the official emblem of dentistry. The Greek letter Δ (delta) for dentistry and the Greek letter Ο (omicron), for odont (tooth) frames the design. It features a serpent entwined about an ancient Arabian cautery as in the manner of Asclepius, the Greek god of medicine, coiled about a rod. The primary and permanent dentition are represented by the number of berries and leaves.
